  Corporate Paintball

There are many occasions in which a game of paintball can be a great activity. Few people would think to use paintball as a way to increase business success. This idea is actually one that is beginning to grow in popularity. Companies have long recognized the value of fun events to boost morale as well as increase employee business skills. Another benefit to informal company activities is the rapport between employees that is developed, which can lead to increased success in the workplace. A game of paintball can accomplish all this: it lets people work together in teams for a common goal in a fun way, and shows the value of both competition and cooperation. If you decide to help your company create a paintball event, keep in mind that there will be many novices. They will need safety and strategy instruction. The paintball game is of little value if everything is chaotic; the point is to have a great time in a competitive, strategic manner.

How to Get Paintball into the Olympics

Many paintball enthusiasts have often wondered why this sport has not been included in the Olympics. Paintball is a very competitive sport that includes both strategy and teamwork. Indeed, to observers paintball seems more complex and athletic than many other accepted Olympic sports today. Nevertheless, only sports that are governed and recognized on an international basis become candidates for acceptance at the Olympic level. There must be some sort of organization that defines and regulates the sport. The sport also needs to be recognized by all countries and have a standard set of rules. Though paintball is a rapidly growing sport with an explosive amount of popularity, it is still mostly based in the United States and has not achieved widespread recognition. The truth of the matter is, until paintball does receive this type of study in the international realm, it will never attain Olympic stature.

Forming a Paintball Team

One of the most annoying parts of playing a team sport is that you have to have enough people in order to play. Paintball works best with a minimum of four people for individual games and six for team games. One way to make sure you have enough people to play is to plan the game early. Extend the invitation one to two weeks in advance and then follow up with a phone call. This might seem like a lot of work for a simple paintball game, but you be well rewarded when you bring multiple friends into this exciting sport. Once you and several other players have been able to make games on a consistent basis, you can start designating a couple times to meet every month.

Paintball and Pain

One of the biggest misconceptions about paintball, and perhaps one of the biggest reasons why people do not get into the game, is the fear of welts and bruises that paintballs can incur. Realistically, it is a game of shooting at each other, and it definitely is possible to get an occasional bruise. This is most likely to happen if players are shooting at each other at a close range. In contrast, games where players are spread out sufficiently usually mean that no one will experience injuries. Of course, wearing adequate protective gear makes a big difference. There is no reason to keep yourself away from the game as long as you take the precautions of wearing the right gear and making sure everyone understands what is fair and what is not in terms of shooting distance.
